How far in advance should we book you?

I recommend 6-12 months in advance, especially for peak wedding season (May through September). However, I understand that plans can change, and I'm often able to accommodate shorter timescales if my diary allows.

What's involved in the planning process?

We start with a relaxed discovery call, then I send you a detailed questionnaire to learn about your love story and vision. I draft your ceremony and share it with you for feedback and revisions. We'll have a final consultation before your big day to run through everything. I'm available throughout for any questions or ideas!

How many revisions can we have?

Accepted Answer

As many as needed! I want your ceremony to be absolutely perfect, so we'll keep refining until you're completely happy. Most couples need 2-3 drafts, but I've never had anyone reach their limit!

Can we meet in person?

I love meeting couples in person when possible! While much of our planning can be done via video calls for convenience, I'm always happy to arrange face-to-face meetings, especially if you're local to my area.

What does your service cost?

My wedding and vow renewal ceremonies are £800. This includes everything from our initial consultation through to your ceremony day — all the planning, unlimited contact, script writing and revisions, guidance on vows and ceremony elements, coordination with your venue and suppliers, and of course, officiating your ceremony with professional sound equipment.

I serve couples across London, Surrey, Kent, and Sussex. I'm passionate about these areas and love working at the incredible variety of venues they offer, from city sophistication to countryside charm.

Do you charge extra for travel?

Travel within my usual coverage areas (London, Surrey, Kent, and Sussex) is included in my fee. For venues significantly outside these areas, we can discuss any additional requirements.

When do we need to pay?

I require a 50% deposit to secure your date, with the balance due before your ceremony. I'll provide clear information about payment schedules when we book.

Most ceremonies are 20-30 minutes, which feels substantial without being too long for guests. However, this can be tailored to your preferences — some couples want something shorter and sweet, others prefer a longer, more elaborate celebration.

What if it rains during our outdoor ceremony?

British weather is always an adventure! I come prepared with equipment that works in various conditions, and we'll always discuss backup plans during our preparation. Some of the most beautiful and memorable ceremonies I've conducted have been in unexpected weather — there's something magical about embracing the elements together.

Yes! I bring professional sound equipment to ensure everyone can hear your beautiful ceremony clearly, whether it's in a large venue or an outdoor setting.

What's the difference between a celebrant and a registrar?

Accepted Answer

Great question! A registrar performs legal ceremonies but within quite strict guidelines about what can be included. As a celebrant, I create completely personalised ceremonies that can include whatever elements are meaningful to you — your own vows, chosen readings, music, rituals, and personal touches. In England, celebrant ceremonies are symbolic, so you'll complete your legal requirements separately at a registry office (usually a quick signing ceremony).

Do I need to do the legal bit separately?

In England, yes — but it’s really straightforward! You’ll need to give notice to the registrar at least 29 days before your legal signing. Most couples then do a simple registry office ceremony a few days before their main celebration. It takes about 20 minutes and just requires two witnesses. Then your celebrant ceremony can be exactly what you dream of — without any legal restrictions.

What if we don't know what we want in our ceremony?

That's totally normal and actually quite exciting! During our planning process, I'll guide you through different options and help you discover what feels right for your relationship. Many couples are surprised by what resonates with them once we start exploring the possibilities.

Can we include religious elements if we want?

Absolutely! I work with couples of all backgrounds and beliefs. We can include prayers, blessings, religious readings, or spiritual elements alongside more personal touches. The beauty of a celebrant ceremony is that it can reflect whatever is meaningful to you.

How early do you arrive?

I arrive about an hour before your ceremony to coordinate with your venue team, set up sound equipment, and help everyone feel prepared and relaxed. I'm there to handle any last-minute details so you can focus on enjoying your moment.

What if someone gets emotional during the ceremony?

Emotions are beautiful and completely welcome! I always bring tissues and am experienced at creating gentle pauses when needed. Your ceremony should be authentic to your feelings — whether that's joyful laughter, happy tears, or both.
